In this Town

Oh,
This town
Was everything;

Every sweet
Dripping
Nectar
Of freedom
And
New beginnings,

Tart
On my tongue,
And vibrant on the pallet
Of paint

That would slather
It's way across
My canvas
Of hope-
For life;

Life-
Once again.

This town,
Was everything-
Every rhythm
That forced my
Hips and strong
As gravity,
Left to right;

And every beat
Consistently-
As my heart
Breathed.

But oh-
Low in the cold winds of
Snow,
This town is
Deep now,

Frigid as me and
Broken,
The life I lead-

Amazing how
A void
Can fill you-

Leave you feeling
Melancholy.

Oh-
So empty.

And the scars
Where daggers
Fled
From the lies they
Fed-

Millions.

In this town;
A facade...

That shattered
Every dream.
